Training Wheels

After a year apart, two childhood best friends, Beck (Ryan Curley) and Jason (Chris Lovejoy), meet up on their first night back of the summer. With Beck away at college while Jason was stuck at home, it’s clear that things on the cul-de-sac aren’t the way they left them. When a fight breaks out at a local party, rising tensions force the two boys to come to terms with themselves, each other, and the future of their friendship.

During the summer of 2021, the screenplay was adapted into a short film by WillCo Media. The short is about 27 minutes long and was filmed around Gloucester, Massachusetts. “Training Wheels” is currently underway in the film festival circuit. It has since been selected by the New York Lift-Off Film Festival. The opening scene is below:
